WHAT IS IT?
Nonsurgical Hair Replacement Systems is a technique used to cover extremely thinning areas of hair, bald patches and in some cases complete baldness due to heredity, alopecia and/or other medical conditions. The systems can be defined as a wig, toupee, topper and/or hairpiece known in the medical hair loss industry as cranial prosthesis. These systems are less evasive than hair implants or other surgical procedures that help replace your hair.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
With Hair Replacement Systems, you have unlimited options. The system can be custom in color, density, style, cut and length. This allows you to tailor your look. There are different base materials used to create the system depending upon the individual's need and extent of hair loss. A consultation is required to discuss which options are best for you and your needs. In some cases insurance will cover 80-100% of the cost of a cranial prosthesis.
WHO QUALIFIES?
Men, women, and children who are experiencing medical hair loss and have been diagnosed with medical hair loss or have received a prescription from your physician for a cranial prosthesis, can schedule a consultation with Heiress Beauty Rx and we can determine the best route for you. We can process your claim or fill your prescription!! Consider us your “nationwide wig pharmacy”.
WHAT IS A CRANIAL PROSTHESIS?
What is a Cranial Prosthesis? A cranial hair prosthesis is a hair system designed specifically for those suffering from hair loss due to medical conditions or treatments, such as alopecia areata, alopecia totalis, trichotillomania, or chemotherapy. Unlike an off-the-shelf wig, each prosthesis is custom made to fit. Precise head measurements are taken and real human hair is selected from a large array of colors. Three variations of the hair color are blended for a more natural appearance. The hair is hand-tied onto a base material that resembles scalp. When a cranial prosthesis is needed due to medical-related hair loss, you may be eligible for reimbursement from your health insurance.
